As part of the first annual Grassroots Game Conference, held from April 23 through April 29, 2012 throughout the city of Philadelphia, a series of discussions were held on the subject of gamification. Located in the CBS Audidorium at the University of the Arts, this video depicts the keynote speech in this series as given by Gabe Zichermann, co-author of the book “Game-Based Marketing,” (Wiley, 2010) a book dedicated to the practice of using games and game elements to improve engagement in applications ranging from business to the web, and everyday life. Zichermann also frequently writes for the gamification news blog at Gamification.co, as well as acting as the chair of the Gamification Summit, a series of conferences based around workshops and lectures on gamification.
This lecture was held on April 24, 2012.
The Grassroots Game Conference is an endeavor of the Philadelphia Game Lab.
