4.21.17: Philadelphia – (Politics): The over-bearing, racial provocateur and successful broadcaster known as Mr. Bill O’Reilly – who as of this week no longer has his hit show on Fox News due to a New York Times story which revealed that the many women who alleged Mr. O’Reilly sexually harassed them were paid-off via settlements – could end up in the Trump administration, for no other reason than because he’s rich, white, male, and largely unqualified to do anything meaningful there. Furthermore, in addition to being a great friend to U.S. President Mr. Donald J. Trump, Mr. O’Reilly shares his world-view, particularly when it comes to the tatted-up, unemployed, hell-dwelling and rebellious African-Americans.
As to what Mr. O’Reilly would do in the White House, his options are plenty, given Mr. Trump has left 90 percent of key appointments vacant, according to MSNBC’s Mr. Ari Melber. And it’s not farfetched to think that Mr. O’Reilly, who’s been one of the president’s biggest defenders and cheerleaders, could, instead of filling a vacant job, takeover one.
It’s been reported by the New York Times that Mr. Trump isn’t overjoyed with current White House press secretary Mr. Sean Spicer being the public face of his administration. Mr. Trump also is said to not be thrilled that Mr. Spicer is being portrayed, and brutally mocked, on ‘Saturday Night Live’ by a woman.
An effective communicator, Mr. O’Reilly could fit nicely into that role, and as the public face of the White House, his already established cranky, out-of-touch and racially insensitive image would find synergy with the unethical Trump administration.

However, because Mr. O’Reilly would be qualified to do such a task, and because the irony isn’t striking enough, he’d likely be placed elsewhere, maybe as the head of the White House Council on Women and Girls.
Mr. O’Reilly might be too controversial for broadcasting now, but his woes make him perfect for the Trump administration, whose brand is chaos. Clearly, Mr. Trump, who inappropriately weighed in on the sexual harassment allegations by asserting his buddy’s innocence, lacks self-awareness and gives zero fucks about conflicts of interest, let alone the appearance of morality; thus hiring Mr. O’Reilly, for the President, would be business as usual, meaning cronyism and nepotism.
No interest in joining the Trump administration has been expressed by Mr. O’Reilly, nor has the president said anything that would indicate he’d hired the 67 year-old who commanded a nightly audience of more than three million viewers, but one must assume the thought has passed Mr. Trump’s mind; after all, as a candidate, Mr. Trump consulted often with Mr. Roger Ailes, who founded Fox News but was pushed out last year due to sexual harassment allegations. And to that point, Mr. O’Reilly’s role in the Trump administration could be informal rather than one which requires a Senate confirmation, given the probability of success there would be low.
Mr. O’Reilly has been loyal to Mr. Trump, and loyalty is a commodity the president often rewards. So if Mr. O’Reilly wants a job, he’ll likely get it. And we, as Americans, shouldn’t be surprised if it happens, after all, what’s a swamp without Bill O’Reilly?
